10.8 / Inclusive Engineering & WCAG 2.1 Level AA
Accessibility Statement
This portfolio is engineered to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA accessibility standards across every season (Ritu), festival accent theme, screen reader, and input device.
1. Contrast & Colorblind Safety
- • All 6 seasonal palettes (Vasanta, Grishma, Varsha, Sharad, Hemanta, Shishira) and festival night palettes (Diwali, Shivaratri) maintain at least a 4.5:1 contrast ratio for body copy and 3:1 for large display typography and UI borders.
- • Skill tokens in the Patang kite game use distinct geometric shapes (diamond, circle, square, hexagon, triangle) alongside text labels so meaning never relies on color alone.
2. Full Keyboard Navigation
- • A visible-on-focus “Skip to main content” link is the first tab stop on every page.
- • Press ? anywhere to open the Keyboard Shortcuts Help Dialog, or Ctrl+K for the Command Palette.
- • All SVG interactive elements (Bodhi Tree roots/branches) carry
tabIndex=0,role="button", andaria-labelattributes.
3. Screen Readers & ATS Fallbacks
- • All interactive widgets, credentials, and technical notes include full semantic HTML structures and accessible text descriptions for screen readers and ATS crawlers.
- • The “Ask Rahul” assistant includes a
<noscript>static summary and announces responses viaaria-live="polite".
4. Motion & Audio Restraint
- • Respects
prefers-reduced-motion: reduceby disabling continuous SVG leaf sway, pin pulse rings, and stroke animations. - • The Raga of the Hour Web Audio synthesizer is strictly opt-in and muted by default, and Recruiter Mode (
?view=recruiter) removes all decorative extras in a single click.
